How was Michelle's Ictoria internship?
Unfortunately, the internship of our graphic designer Michelle van Duinen is over. We are very happy with the work she did for Ictoria, but how was it for her?
Michelle felt very much at home at Ictoria during the past months. “When I started here, I had to get used to it, but gradually I noticed that I fitted in quite well with the other people. I was fully accepted immediately and I really liked that because I had never had that before.”
“The guidance is also very good and personal, everything was well explained. I learned here that if you have a question you should come up with it yourself and not wait. At the beginning of my time here, I found that difficult, but it is very important.
Flyer
During her internship Michelle mainly dealt with graphic design, for instance making banners for LinkedIn or Facebook and social media calendars. One of the assignments Michelle is most proud of is the flyer she created for Cox fruit and vegetables. “I had made a Sinterklaas flyer for our client Cox. It was slightly modified by other people, but I did it all by myself. If it had not been for Corona, the flyer would have been used. I am very proud of that.
Ignite Award
Michelle has had good fun at Ictoria: “My birthday was fun. It was my birthday and I had baked cupcakes. Then I was allowed to take a picture with the cupcakes for social media. Another great moment was when I got an assignment to take pictures for Boxmeer village centre. I was allowed to go into the centre with my camera to take pictures and then edit them. Those photos were also used for the website. So I really enjoyed that too. Another moment that stood out was the final of the Ignite awards. “We all watched the ceremony at the office via the livestream. A short film was made for the finals and I appeared in it. That is, of course, very special.
Fun and educational
According to Michelle an internship at Ictoria is fun because you can be yourself and learn useful things: “The atmosphere at work is very pleasant and as long as you do your best it’s all right. I only got positive feedback. You are not only told what you are doing wrong, but also how you can do it better. The constructive criticism motivated me enormously”.
Michelle’s internship is now over and she will go back to school in the near future. “I am going to miss the people at Ictoria a lot. I feel so much love. I just feel so much part of it and I am really going to miss that”.
