What did Maud think of her internship at Ictoria?
You may have seen her image on Ictoria’s social media. In this blog, Maud tells about her time as an intern at Ictoria. What did she think of her internship? What was her favourite assignment? And what did she learn? You can read it all here.
How did Maud end up at Ictoria?
Maud came to us via Jennifer, who had done an internship here before. As both Ictoria as well as Jennifer were very positive about the work experience, another internship period followed. Maud had not yet succeeded in finding a work placement, and when she heard that more graphic interns were needed at Ictoria, she applied; successfully!
Why Ictoria?
But what did Maud actually think of her time as an intern at Ictoria? “I really enjoyed being an intern at Ictoria. I’ve never had internships where I only had to stand behind the photocopier. But here at Ictoria you are treated as a valuable employee. You don’t feel like an intern”.
During her internship period we really saw Maud grow. “My self-confidence has really grown, I think. During my internship I actually learned everything outside of graphics. I’m also a lot more confident now when I have contact with a customer or when I have to order products.” It was the first time for Maud during an internship that she was also given other tasks, which she really liked.
Illustrations
What did Maud enjoy doing most during her internship? “I really developed my illustrating skills. During my previous internship I was mainly occupied with house styles. At Ictoria, I discovered that developing and making illustrations is really my thing.”
The illustrations she made for the Kabouterpad is one of her favourite assignments. “I designed the website and a banner for the Kabouterpad in Boxmeer. I am very proud of the final result. I also used the banner I made for the Kabouterpad during my final exhibition at school.”
Is an internship with Ictoria recommended?
“Definitely! Especially because you are given a lot of responsibility in what you do. There is also the possibility to indicate what you would still like to learn. There is always someone willing to teach you something.” Maud could go to her internship supervisors with her questions. “Whenever I had trouble with something or didn’t fully understand anything, Yirka and Janne were happy to help me.”
But there is also another reason why Maud can recommend an internship at Ictoria. “At Ictoria it doesn’t matter who you are. Even if you are green, yellow or purple. It doesn’t matter. Your qualities and commitment are the most important, if you produce good work then you will come a long way.”
